EPC (Energy Performance Certificate)
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is similar to the certification found on many domestic appliances. They are used to demonstrate the energy rating of a building.
An energy performance certificate tells you the energy efficiency of a building on a scale of band A (most efficient) to band G (least efficient). EPC's are required by the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive applicable to England and Wales, and they are accompanied by advice on how to improve the buildings energy efficiency.
Energy Rating Services have many years of experience in the application of both commercial and residential Energy Performance Certificates. Our consultants can review your plans, provide initial advice, conduct the calculations and issue certification.
Commercial Energy Performance Certificate
Required since January 2009 for all commercial property over 50m2 upon construction, sale or lease of the property. Energy Rating Services can also lodge EPC from Carbon Checker and Hevacomp files. The fines can be as large as £5000, so make sure you don't miss the deadline – call Energy Rating Services today.
Domestic Energy Performance Certificate
Required since April 2008 for all houses upon construction, sale or lease of the property, as part of the SAP calculation.
